Steve Pope is the Director of Golf Europa. He works on golf course designs and advises golf organisations on EU policy and funding.
Golf Course Design
Steve is an Associate Member of the EIGCA and has worked with some of Britain’s leading golf course architects (Jonathan Gaunt, Ken Moodie and David Hemstock) on a range of new build and remodelling projects in the UK, Eastern Europe and India. He moved to a new base in Finland in February 2009.
EU Policy Advice
European Union legislation increasingly impacts every aspect of the golf industry and a new EU sports policy is emerging.
Golf Europa provides expert advice to the golf industry and other sectors on EU policy developments.
Help to obtain grants
Grant aid from EU regional funds is financing the development of new golf courses across Europe.
Golf Europa helps organisations to obtain grants from the EU and elsewhere.
Steve has worked in economic development and European Union affairs for over 20 years, both in the private and public sectors and is a Member of the UK Institution of Economic Development.
